From: Betty Beidleman-Rush, National President Beidleman-Dixon- Howard-Blevins Family Reunion
Date: July 4, 2010
Subject: Letter of Resignation for Beidleman-Dixon-Howard-Blevins Family Reunion
Please accept my Letter of Resignation as National President of the Beidleman-Dixon-Howard-Blevins Family Reunion effective July 4, 2010. It has certainly been an enjoyable, heart-warming positive experience serving as your National President for the past 16 years (1996-2010). Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the family.
We have come a long way and accomplished much as a family unit since July, 1978. We have laid a positive foundation for generations to come. We have an organizational structure in place to give us direction. Family reunions are now being held in cities across the country hosted by family members; a scholarship fund has been established to encourage our youth; and a quilt raffle project has been established for maintenance of our family cemetery.
Therefore, my challenge to you is to continue to build on this foundation. Always putting God first, family second and education third, continue to move our family reunion to another positive level of love and unity in the 21st century.
Prior to serving as your National President, I served as the Chairperson of our Cemetery Committee for 12 years, 1984 thru 1996. We completed the following projects: cemetery survey, cleaning of cemetery five times, construction and installation of cemetery sign, and started the Aunt Pearl’s Quilt Raffle to fund maintenance of our historic cemetery. I also introduced the first T-shirt and pictures to the family in 1980.
Today, the family legacy has been passed on to this generation to build upon with a positive vision of leadership and hope, except your elected position with sincere commintment to God and the family. Fill with pride the shoes of our ancestors, remain united, and love one another without ceasing.
I look forward to being of continued service to the family when needed. I thank God for the opportunity and I thank you – family group for allowing me to serve you since 1984. Thank you very much and may God continue to bless you is my prayer.
A Letter From Betty Rush
